Portfolio / UK technology recruitment
Elms Talent Group
The brief
Elms place technology people across the UK, from first roles to leadership. The site had to earn trust in the first few seconds and give candidates a reason to stay, so I built it around free, genuinely useful tools rather than another wall of listings.
The site needed to feel like a specialist firm run by people who understand engineering, not a generic agency reselling vacancies.
Candidates come to job sites guarded. The answer was to give something away first: real tools that help before anyone fills in a form.

What the
homepage does.
The first few seconds carry the most weight. Here is what each part is doing, and why. Hover a point or a note to link the two.
-
01
One line, no hedging
The headline does one job: say what this is with confidence, in a serif that feels considered.
-
02
Do, don't describe
A live search sits in the hero. The first thing you can do is the thing you came for.
-
03
Choice of theme
Theme and job count live in the header, honest about the state of the site.
-
04
Evidence, quietly
Turnaround and focus stated plainly, no inflated claims.
Every page, taken apart
The pieces, and
what each does.

What I built
The parts that
do the work.
CV checker
A tool that scores a CV the way an applicant tracking system reads it, flags keyword gaps, and explains in plain English what a recruiter actually sees.
Interview prep & Pathfinder
Guided preparation and a role-matcher that point people toward the right move, keeping them on the site and building trust.
Search that respects intent
Role search with sensible filters for level, location and discipline, so the right jobs surface without endless scrolling.
Light and dark, by choice
A full theme system that remembers the visitor rather than guessing, alongside a considered cookie consent flow.
Every screen
Made to hold up
in the hand.
Built responsive from the start, so it reads as clearly on a phone as it does on a desktop.
